Unveiling of Two Rivers Greenway Signage

Unveiling of Two Rivers Greenway Signage

(TOWN OF VESTAL, NY) Binghamton Metropolitan Transportation Study brought together dozens of partners today at the unveiling of the completed Two Rivers Greenway Sign Project at Vestal Coal House.

Signs are spread across Broome and Tioga Counties and its municipalities, marking the Greenway trails and highlighting the history of the areas.

There are a total of 75 signs installed at 72 locations. Examples of current sign locations are Port Dickinson Community Park, Chugnut Trail in Endicott, and Otsiningo Park.

Municipalities included in this project are:

  • Broome County
  • City of Binghamton
  • Village of Endicott
  • Village of Port Dickinson
  • Village of Owego
  • Town of Conklin
  • Town of Fenton
  • Town of Owego
  • Town of Vestal

This federally-funded project will enhance the experience of those using the trails comprising the Two Rivers Greenway by improving wayfinding information, identifying nearby attractions, and providing educational information about significant historic and natural sites along the greenway.

The signs will also work to increase awareness of the trail system and encourage more people to go out and use the trails for recreation as well as transportation, resulting in a more active and healthy lifestyle.
