The Broome County Real Property Tax Service provides an installment tax program for those taxpayers who have become delinquent in the payment of their real property tax and are in danger of county tax foreclosure. Upon entering this program, the taxpayer is required to make a down payment of 25% of the taxes due; the remaining amount is to be paid over 24 monthly payments with 1% monthly (12% annual) interest charged. Also and most importantly, all new taxes coming due during that 24 month period must be kept current.
For more specific information, please contact the Real Property Tax Service.
