Dog Shelter to Open on Saturdays in 2018

(TOWN OF DICKINSON, NY) With the new year comes additional hours the public can visit the Broome County Dog Shelter.

Effective January 1, 2018, the shelter will be open to the public on Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The first open Saturday will be January 6, 2018.

While the shelter will be closed to the public on Sunday and Mondays, staff will always be on site to care for the dogs within our shelter as well as to respond to emergencies and other public needs as they may arise.  These changes in operational hours are to better accommodate the public in their use of the shelter and in search for that perfect adoptable dog.

Currently, the dog shelter public hours are Monday- Friday from 10:00 to 4:30.

The Broome County Dog Shelter is located at 110 Cutler Pond Rd., Binghamton, NY 13905.

The Broome County Dog Shelter is supported through contracts with ten towns to house stray adoptable dogs and puppies, as well as through redemption fees, adoption fees and donations to the trust fund.
