Executive Fiala Announces Additional Changes in Broome Security

BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala announced today that Carl Fenescey, head of Broome Security for the past 21 years, is leaving his post to take a position with the New York State Office of Court Administration. Fenescey will become the coordinator of court security efforts in the entire 6th judicial district.

This move comes on the heels of the announcement that the Office of Court Administration wants to take control of the security in its court system. Previously, court security was handled by Broome’s Security Division.

“I was flattered they asked me to take on this huge responsibility and I am looking forward to the challenge,” said Fenescey. “I have been with Broome County for the past 25 years and it is near and dear to me but a new challenge was presented and it seems the right time in my life to try something different.”

“We are of course extremely saddened by his departure but excited for Carl and his new responsibilities,” said Executive Fiala. “We will miss him and his professionalism but we know the division will be in good hands under the direction of James Dadamio.”

Fiala named Dadamio to succeed Fenescey as Director of Broome County Security. Dadamio is currently the head of Broome Security’s Case Integrity Unit which handles Medicaid fraud cases for the county. Dadamio has had a distinguished career and has been recognized on numerous occasions for his diligent pursuit of fraud cases and his overall professionalism.

Dadamio has been with Broome Security Division since 1984. He will take over as Security Director, July 17th.
