Broome County Arena to Host Arena Indoor Football League Team

BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive Barbara Fiala is delighted to welcome the Binghamton Brigadiers to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. The Brigadiers, owned by Benjamin Tisdale, are a member of the Atlantic Indoor Football League, and will be playing their 2006 schedule in the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

The AIFL is a professional football league, designed to help develop and promote football players to the next level of their careers. The AIFL's goal is to create a high caliber league that will focus on divisional rivalries.

"We are excited about the prospects of hosting another professional sports team at the Veterans Memorial Arena," said Broome County Executive Barbara Fiala. "This type of sporting event is entertainment for the entire family and that is what we aim to provide at our Arena. It is also a way to bring more people to the downtown area which helps so many businesses and service providers."

"I am excited about the opportunity to have the Brigadiers play in such a fine facility as the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena," said Team Owner Benjamin Tisdale. "The league is looking to cities like Binghamton to expand and we think this is a perfect partnership for the Brigadiers, Broome County and the people of this community."

The Brigadiers 2006 schedule will run from April 2006 through August 2006. The team anticipates having a 14 game schedule that will include 7 home games played in the Arena. There would be additional games if the team made it into the playoffs.

The AIFL says its focus is to maintain regionalized schedules to keep costs low. The goal is to provide communities fast paced, fan friendly professional football at affordable prices.
